Description

The BMLine 20 (ver2017) is a complete overhaul of the award-winning and acclaimed BMLine 20. All parts responsible for playback have been revised and optimized. In the bass, for example, three 10" drivers are responsible for the unbraked bass. The amplifier power has been increased and with the introduction of the DMC2.0 membrane control (patent pending), the performance has been significantly increased again. The mid-range is controlled by two special drivers made by B&M Reproduced as an inverted dome and extended downwards by 200 Hertz, the mid-high unit now converts all frequencies above the bass range to the highest tones in a compact unit with a softly directed dispersion. M's own AMT converts the entire range above the fundamental tone in one chassis. In this way, seamless playback is achieved, which allows the sound to be completely detached from the loudspeaker. The line source characteristic of the AMT ensures exact illumination of the listening position, even at greater listening distances and in rooms with less than ideal room acoustics. The midrange speakers are connected to the AMT in such a way that the upper mids are already slightly focused towards the listener, which the AMT then seamlessly picks up.

The FPGA-based software DSP of the large Line Series loudspeakers uses B&M's own FIRTEC™ technology to ensure phase-linear, time-correct playback with phenomenal tonal neutrality. The housing, manufactured using sandwich technology, consists of an MDF base housing, the baffle and the housing cheeks. All elements can be combined in different materials, from solid wood, with fine veneer, in piano finish or purely black and white. The variety of finishes and housing variants enables a high degree of individualization and ultimately perfect adaptation to the living room ambience.

Technical specifications

  • Time-correct, phase-linear playback through B&M FIRTEC equalization in the FPGA digital signal processor
  • Compact line source to improve the playback quality at the listening position
  • DMC2.0 (pat.) control of the bass chassis extends the time-coherent playback without latency down to the deepest bass, guaranteed lip synchronicity
